One Piece 350

Yohoho~! It’s One Piece Time! Two weeks without One Piece is never a good thing, but it build tons of anticipation for the next episode to air. One Piece is the only show out of the big three which I haven’t read the manga, and I don’t think I ever will, either. I enjoy the anime so much that I don’t want to spoil myself by reading the manga. So with that said, I feel as though this arc is going by very fast. I mean, we already know who the main enemy of this arc is, and we know about some of the enemies’ weaknesses as well.

Well, this episode was hilarious as usual. I love Brooke, and it is nice that we learned a few more things about him in this episode. Also, what about this Oz character? He looks huge. I mean, like damn. Seriously. I’m thinking that he will be tough to beat.

Episode Rating: 9/10

I can’t recall a One Piece episode that I didn’t like. Even the fillers are awesome. I love the artwork and the whole vibe of Thriller Bark, especially when they went into the freezer area where Oz was kept. Great episode.

At first, I wasn’t too sure about episode one, but episode two got me hooked. Therefore, I watched episode three with the same expectations. Luckily, I wasn’t disappointed. I enjoyed this episode very much, especially Kotoko’s choice for the person she loved. Oh yeah, the slap at the end was great too.

Is anyone else reminded of Orihime from Bleach whenever they look at Kotoko? Irie also reminds me of Byakuya. It might just be me though. Oh well, I suppose that adds more to the show for me because both of those characters are great. The only character I don’t like is the black-haired girl with the weird lips. She creeps me out.

Episode Rating: 9/10

This episode had a nice blend of comedy and romance, as well as creepy stalkers barging into their loved one’s home unannounced. I’m definitely excited for the next episode.

Kanokon 03

[Screen Cap 1] - [Screen Cap 2] - [Screen Cap 3]

This episode of Kanokon is called I’m Going to Feast on You. Now, if you have seen the first two episodes, then you would know what to expect from this series. However, if this was the first time you’ve heard of Kanokon, be warned because this show is so outrageously perverted that I have a ‘wtf’ reaction after each episode ends.

Honestly, there really isn’t a real plot in Kanokon. That doesn’t mean that this show isn’t entertaining though. I can’t believe how many obscene things Kanokon can get away with, and still air on television. If this was shown in America, it would probably be a late night HBO special.

Episode Rating: 8/10

As usual, Chizuru and Nozomu compete for Kouta. This time, it was a cooking battle. Somehow, this leads to Kouta punishing Chizuru by spanking her at the end of the episode. Only in Kanokon I suppose. It was great for some cheap laughs, but otherwise, it is just like all of the ecchi animes.

Edit: After rewatching it, I’ve decided to increase this episodes rating from a 7.5 to an 8 because I enjoyed watching it. Normally, watching an episode for a second time within a short time span decreases it’s enjoyment because you know what to expect, but this was not the case.

Naruto finally starts to learn another technique in this episode! I mean, it’s only been about two years since he learned something new, right? Anyways, I’ve read the manga, and this episode follows it perfectly, which is always a plus. The entire episode is basically all dialogue because Kakashi tries to explain how elemental chakra works, which is great because it gives us more insight on the Naruto Universe.

For those action junkies, you might not be too entertained by this episode because of the dialogue, but it was worth watching because we find out which element Naruto is affiliated with.

Unfortunetly though, as seen in this weeks preview, next week’s episode is going to be mostly filler. Hopefully we will only suffer through two or three episodes of filler before things go back to normal. Oh well, there is always One Piece.

Episode Rating: 8/10

This was another typical episode of Naruto, there wasn’t too much character development, but thats okay because we learned quite a bit about chakra elements. Now, if only Kakashi explained Light and Dark manipulation…

Soul Eater 02

[Screen Cap 1] - [Screen Cap 2] - [Screen Cap 3]

Simply put, this show is addicting. The episode focused on Black Star, who is a lazy, but brilliant meister. His weapon is a chain scythe named Tsubaki. She is able to change her appearance into other weapons such as a smoke bomb and a shuriken, which is awesome because this might mean that all of the weapons might have more than one form. I don’t know though, because I haven’t read the manga.

Anyways, I absolutely love the animation quality of this series. ‘Nuff said there. I cannot really discuss this episode too much because that would spoil those who haven’t watched it yet. So, onto my rating!

Episode Rating: 10/10

This episode had it all- Ninja tactics, ecchi, a kick-ass swordsman, and Al Capone. It can’t get any better than that. Seriously. Watch it.

Bleach 167

[Screen Cap 1] - [Screen Cap 2] - [Screen Cap 3]

Here it is, the last episode of Bleach before we get into fillers. Overall, I thought it was a touching episode for those who were fans of Grimmjow.

This episode gives us some insight on the life of a hollow in Hueco Mundo, and of course, it also conclude the battle between Ichigo and Grimmjow. The animation was fluid and detailed, which is worth noting because the animators of Bleach have been lazy in the past.

As usual, the voice acting and music were excellent. The story followed the manga very closely, except for the ending. This was acceptable only because they had to change the story around if they were going to transition into fillers next week.

They did a pretty good job with the ending of this episode; it was hilarious. I am referring to the Shinigami Illustrated, just so you know. I was worried that it was only going to focus on the new third division captain for the fillers, but somehow they managed to get Ichigo and the crew out of Hueco Mundo.

Episode Rating: 8/10

I chose an 8 because of the fact that they had to change the plot at the end so they could transition into fillers. Unfortunetly, this was unavoidable, but it didn’t entirely ruin the episode.
